Anthony ”Rumble” Johnson klarade inte invägningen inför sin match mot Vitor Belfort i mellanvikt (185lbs).
Johnson flyttade upp till mellanvikt då han två gånger i weltervikt (170lbs) missat vikten i UFC. Både han själv, hans team och UFC ansåg att detta var helt rätt för honom och han skulle bli mer bekväm med träning och bantning inför match.
Trots att han flyttat upp en viktklass blev detta, invägningen till UFC 142, tredje gången som Johnson missat vikten i UFC.
Dana White sa följande till MMA Fighting:
”As a fighter, you are a professional. You are contracted to come in at a certain weight. This is not the first time this has happened with Johnson. He moved up to 185 pounds so this wouldn’t happen to him at 170 pounds, and here we are in the same position again. Belfort came in like a professional on weight, and Anthony Johnson comes in as a total unprofessional, way overweight.”
Tack vare viktmissen måste Johnson ge 20% av sin lön till Belfort.
